Located in an old mansion on Calle Serrano, in the Barrio de Salamanca, the Lázaro Galdiano Museum exhibits an exquisite art collection that includes works by Goya, El Greco, Zurbarán and Bosch, as well as bronzes, ceramics, crystals, textiles, medals and weapons of extraordinary valor.
Apart from his talent for business, José Lázaro Galdiano was a prestigious editor who, between the 19th and 20th centuries, launched the literary magazine La España Moderna. The foundation that today bears his name is in charge of conserving, disseminating and exhibiting his magnificent art collection, housed in his former residence, the Parque Florido palace, which was the scene of literary gatherings in which distinguished writers such as Emilia Pardo Bazán, Miguel de Unamuno or Rubén Darío.
